Privacy Policy

We collect information you provide directly when using Hired By Code:

• Account information: name, email address, and password when you register
• Profile data: work experience, education, certifications, and skills you add to your profile
• GitHub data: when you connect your GitHub account, we access your repositories, languages, commit history, pull requests, and contribution data via read-only OAuth
• Job posting data: URLs and content from job postings you submit
• Generated content: CVs, ATS scores, and interview Q&A created by the service
• Uploaded documents: existing CVs you upload for profile extraction
• Payment information: billing details processed securely by Stripe (we do not store card numbers)

We use collected data to:

• Generate tailored, ATS-optimized CVs for each job posting
• Analyze your GitHub activity to extract verifiable skills and experience
• Score your CV against job requirements for ATS compatibility
• Generate interview preparation questions and answers
• Match you with relevant job postings in the job feed
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Send notifications about your CV generation and job application status
• Improve the service and fix technical issues

To extract, analyze, or generate content, we send relevant uploaded documents, CV text, profile details, GitHub evidence, and job descriptions to the AI providers configured for the service. Provider retention and data-use terms depend on the provider and account settings. Do not include confidential information you do not want processed by those providers. Account passwords and payment card details are not part of these requests.

When you connect GitHub via OAuth, we request read-only access. Specifically:

• We read your repositories, languages, commit history, and pull request activity
• We never write to your repositories, push code, or modify your GitHub account
• Repository names and activity may appear in generated documents. Review your documents before sharing them.
• You can disconnect GitHub at any time from your profile settings

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• AI providers: documents and relevant profile, CV, GitHub, and job content for extraction, analysis, and generation
• Stripe: payment processing (PCI-compliant, we never store card details)
• Service infrastructure: hosting, email delivery, and operational error monitoring needed to run the service
• Law enforcement: only when required by law or valid legal process

We retain account data while your account is active. Account deletion removes associated application records and schedules stored-file cleanup. Minimal billing identifiers may be retained while cancellation is reconciled. Operational logs and backups follow the retention settings of the services that store them. You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data in your profile
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data (CVs, profile information)
• Disconnect third-party integrations (GitHub) at any time
• Opt out of non-essential communications
