ClearRoute is an engineering consultancy bridging Quality Engineering, Cloud Platforms and Developer Experience. We help enterprises reliably bring high-impact digital products to market faster, cheaper, and safer, working with technology leaders facing complex business challenges. We take as much pride in our people, culture and work-life balance as we do in making better software. We’re not just making better software. We’re making the making of software better. Collaborative, entrepreneurial and dedicated to problem solving, we bring the step change our customer need to sustain innovation. Our values challenge us to do the best we can for ClearRoute, our customers and most importantly our team. This is an opportunity for you to build the organisation from the ground up, use your voice to drive change and help transform organisations and problem domains. Role: This role is for a strong hands-on software engineer(s) who can help design and implement the controls, tooling, and engineering practices needed to support safe AI-assisted development in an enterprise environment. The role sits across several domains. It requires someone who is credible as a developer first, but who also has enough breadth across cloud, security, operating systems, desktop engineering, CI/CD, and developer tooling to work on a cross-cutting enablement problem. The focus is on enabling engineers to use agentic tooling safely and effectively through the right mix of research, prototyping, implementation, telemetry, and guardrails. Key Responsibilities: • Investigate safe patterns for enterprise use of agentic development tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot • Design and implement practical guardrails, controls, and engineering patterns for AI-assisted development • Contribute to endpoint and platform observability, telemetry, and policy enforcement • Help define how controls should work consistently across local development environments and CI/CD pipelines • Explore changes to the development environment, including more containerised or backend- offloaded approaches • Run research, proof-of-concept work, and technical experimentation in an emerging and fast- moving area • Work across engineering, platform, security, and adjacent enterprise teams to turn concepts into operating solutions • Help shape scalable practices for governance, rollout, and developer adoption Required Experience: • Strong hands-on background as a software engineer. • Broad technical understanding across several of the following: developer tooling, cloud platforms, operating systems, desktop environments, security controls, observability, telemetry, and CI/CD • Experience working on developer workflows and engineering ways of working, not only end-user application delivery • Ability to work in ambiguous problem spaces and turn research or experimentation into practical implementation • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical disciplines and stakeholder groups • Curiosity, sound engineering judgement, and comfort operating across discipline boundaries Desirable Experience: • Experience with enterprise adoption of AI-assisted development tools • Familiarity with secure developer environments, enterprise guardrails, or policy enforcement • Experience with containerised development environments or remote/offloaded development models • Exposure to telemetry, usage analytics, or engineering reporting pipelines • Experience in regulated or control-heavy enterprise environments • Some data engineering or analytics capability, particularly where reporting and insight generation are part of the role Working at ClearRoute We have grown from six founders to 180+ people across five countries in three years, and what sets us apart isn't the pace, it's how we grow. Real flexibility, in practice. We trust you to perform at your best and still have a life outside of work, with genuine hybrid working, a home office budget, an open feedback culture where your voice shapes decisions, and time off when life needs it (birthday included). When ClearRoute wins, you win. We offer profit share so success is shared, meaningful recognition for great work, and benefits that look after you and your family, including private healthcare, competitive salary benchmarking, and a confidential employee assistance program covering counselling, mental health support, and financial wellbeing. A community you'll genuinely want to be part of. Interest based communities like running and book clubs, Women in Tech group, monthly socials, and cross regional events bring people together across the company. An inclusive, collaborative culture where you don't need to conform to succeed, where people support one another and feel comfortable being themselves. Where meaningful work meets real growth. You will tackle complex, real world problems at the forefront of platform engineering, AI, security, and scalable systems. Your growth is supported by learning budgets, Udemy access, a clear career framework, internal mobility, and thought leadership opportunities that take your impact beyond ClearRoute. At ClearRoute, we believe diverse perspectives lead to better outcomes, and inclusion creates the conditions for everyone to thrive. Our values challenge us to do the best we can for ClearRoute, our customers and most importantly our team. This is an opportunity for you to build the organisation from the ground up, use your voice to drive change and help transform organisations and problem domains. Role: At ClearRoute, the Technical Delivery Manager is the operational backbone of an engagement: running governance, managing risk, coordinating delivery teams, and keeping clients and ClearRoute aligned. Unlike a pure project manager, we are looking for a Technical Delivery Manager who is engineering-literate and leads delivery in an engineering-first way, holding the team to strong Agile and engineering-excellence practices. Key Responsibilities: Establish and run the Delivery Playbook governance structure and cadence (kickoff, planning, execution, closure) Facilitate communication between client and ClearRoute; maintain a clear view of who is working on what and who the stakeholders are Capture delivery data, RAG status, risks and insights for governance reporting (bi-weekly and monthly delivery reviews) Manage engagement risk to protect ClearRoute's interests; identify and decouple dependencies Coordinate workstreams, coach the team, ensure quality of deliverables and adherence to Agile practices Run the Delivery Health Check Toolkit regularly to gauge team health/performance Own engagement closure: sign-off of deliverables, engagement review, case study and IP capture Required Experience: Proven track record managing software delivery engagements end-to-end (on time, on scope, on budget), ideally in a consultancy or client-facing services environment. Strong working knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and modern engineering practices (CI/CD, DORA metrics, quality engineering), with enough technical literacy to challenge and guide engineering teams. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to build trust with senior client stakeholders and economic buyers. Demonstrable risk and dependency management capability, with sound commercial judgement to protect delivery and margin. Experience running delivery governance and reporting — status, RAG, risk logs — and presenting to client and internal leadership. Ability to coach and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and to operate pragmatically by adapting process to context rather than applying it rigidly. Desirable Experience: Background as a hands-on software engineer or technical lead before moving into delivery management. Experience across multiple engagement models (Time & Materials, Capability/squad-based, and Outcome/OKR-based). Familiarity with cloud, DevOps, and test-automation domains Experience setting up engagements from scratch — onboarding teams onto client systems, co-creating backlogs, and establishing delivery cadence. Role: Full-stack developers with a strong front-end focus, responsible for building the control plane and the golden-path tooling engineers use to ship. This is an AI-enabled role: you'll work agentic first, using an agentic harness (Claude or similar) to drive implementation, not as an occasional assist. You're as comfortable orchestrating agents to generate, validate, and test code as you are writing it yourself. The role pairs modern front-end development (React) with working knowledge of Python services and APIs. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain front-end components using React for the control plane and audit/compliance/cost views. Build responsive, scalable, high-quality UI features for self-service data exploration and platform interaction. Drive implementation through an agentic harness: prompt, steer, and validate agent-generated code rather than hand-cranking it. Contribute to backend development (Python/FastAPI) where required. Build templated archetypes and golden-path kits that accelerate onboarding and development for other teams. Collaborate with UX/UI to ensure accurate implementation of designs. Ensure performance, security, and maintainability, with a testing-first mindset. Required Experience: Strong experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript. 6+ months hands-on with agentic editors (Claude, etc.) and a clear understanding of agent risks and mitigation. Experience building web applications with API integrations. Working knowledge of Python (FastAPI a plus) for backend/API development. Familiarity with REST APIs and microservices architecture. Strong focus on acceptance testing and architecture testing (unit tests enforcing standards: line limits, design patterns, imports.) Experience with version control and CI/CD practices. Proactive communicator who unblocks themselves and collaborates across a matrix organisation (no quiet handle-crankers.) Desirable Experience: Experience integrating AI/ML services (LLM APIs, embeddings, agent frameworks) AWS native development and deployment experience Policy-as-code expertise Snowflake or data-product experience (producing and consuming) Data visualisation libraries (charts, dashboards) Authentication and RBAC implementation Experience building developer platforms, golden paths, or internal tooling Working at ClearRoute: We have grown from six founders to 180+ people across five countries in three years, and what sets us apart isn't the pace, it's how we grow.
