As an (Embedded) Software Development Engineer you develop the software that makes our drones smarter, safer and real-world ready. Apply for this job DeltaQuad develops advanced VTOL UAV systems for defence, public safety and commercial operators worldwide. Behind every flight is a complex combination of software, electronics, hardware and communication systems that need to work seamlessly together. We’re looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer who enjoys that complexity. Someone who doesn’t just write code, but wants to understand how it behaves on the actual hardware and ultimately in the air. The role As an Embedded Software Engineer, you’ll develop and improve the software at the heart of our UAV platforms. Our software runs across multiple aircraft, hardware configurations and product variants. Your challenge is to make sure it remains reliable, scalable and maintainable as our technology and fleet continue to evolve. You’ll primarily work in C++ and collaborate closely with Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering and our R&D Test & Flight team. Testing is a big part of how we work: from Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) to validating your work on an actual aircraft. What you’ll do Develop and maintain embedded software for our UAV platforms, primarily in C++. Build software that works reliably across different hardware configurations and product variants. Work at the intersection of software, electronics, sensors, actuators and communication systems. Collaborate with Electrical, Systems and R&D Test & Flight teams. Develop and improve SITL, HITL, automated and regression testing. Validate designs and debug complex software/hardware integration issues. Contribute to software architecture, CI/CD and configuration management. Take ownership of technical projects and help drive them from idea to validated solution. What you bring A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems or a related field. Around 5–7+ years of relevant software engineering experience. Strong professional experience with C++. Experience developing embedded software that interacts with electronics and hardware. Experience with software running across multiple devices, hardware versions or product configurations. The ability to understand complex systems beyond your own area of expertise. Experience with testing, validation, debugging and regression testing. A hands-on and structured approach to solving problems. Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams. Professional proficiency in English. Nice to have Experience with PX4, ArduPilot, MAVLink, embedded Linux, Python or Rust is a plus. So is a background in UAVs, robotics, autonomous systems, aerospace or other technically complex products. What success looks like You understand that embedded software never operates in isolation. A software change can affect electronics, communications, flight behaviour and ultimately the performance of the entire aircraft. You enjoy moving between code, simulation, hardware and flight testing. And when something doesn’t behave as expected, you’re the kind of engineer who wants to find out why. What we offer Work on advanced UAV technology with real-world applications. Plenty of technical ownership and room to influence how our platform develops. Close collaboration between Software, Electrical, Systems and Test & Flight Engineering. Coaching and professional growth opportunities. 27 vacation days based on full-time employment. A 38-hour workweek with flexible working hours. €0.25/km travel reimbursement or full reimbursement of second-class public transport. An excellent pension scheme through PME. Webfuse is Surfly’s browser-based platform for securely adding functionality, automation, and collaboration to existing web applications without changing their source code. It combines JavaScript sandboxing with proxy infrastructure, creating unusual engineering challenges across browser APIs, web security, real-time communication, and distributed systems. As a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will join our Product Engineering team in Amsterdam. This is a genuinely full-stack role: projects regularly cross frontend and backend boundaries. You will own production features from technical design and implementation through testing, release, and maintenance. Your work will include a mix of: Building in-session interfaces and tools using TypeScript and Vue.js Developing APIs and backend services using Python, Django, Django REST Framework, Node.js, and Go Building real-time collaboration features using WebSockets and WebRTC Developing browser automation, in-session extensions, and security controls Building integrations with customer and partner systems Developing MCP and WebMCP capabilities that allow AI agents to interact with Webfuse sessions Testing, debugging, deployment, and production maintenance are part of owning a feature - not separate responsibilities handed to another team. We expect you to bring deep expertise in at least one part of the stack and to contribute confidently across the wider platform. As part of a small engineering team, you will have direct influence over technical decisions and how features are built. Our team is international and English is our working language. This is an office-first hybrid role: you will work from our Amsterdam office four days per week, with the option to work from home one day per week.
Onze IT-afdeling is opgedeeld in zogenoemde pijlers. Role - Software Engineer - Battery Controller & Infrastructure Company - iwell - Harmonizing Clean Energy Location - Utrecht About iwell At iwell, we are all about reinforcing energy security. We help European businesses become more energy independent. With growing regulations, extreme price volatility and rising grid issues, they need to be resilient. It is time to take charge and think ahead. We deliver energy management solutions that ensure that businesses are always in control of their energy. Our in-house developed EMS and modular battery storage drive profit through sustainability, making businesses future-proof. We are a fast-growing international team of bold, talented individuals. From engineers and software developers to creative thinkers and customer-focused business developers. No matter what your strong suit is, we always are looking for people who are determined to make a positive impact. The Role The Battery Controller team owns the software that is closest to the hardware: the C.NET application that steers our battery systems and guards their safety. This is code that runs on real hardware, in the field, making real-time decisions that keep our customers' energy operations safe and reliable. But this team owns more than the application. We also run a large share of the infrastructure that keeps the fleet operational such as Linux, Ansible orchestration, self-hosted DevOps stack, VPN gateways, networking and monitoring. We don't believe in developers who throw their code over a wall to "ops", so we're looking for someone who is two things at once: a solid Cengineer, and someone who gets a real kick out of the infrastructure side. You own things end to end, you document as you go, and you're the person your team can lean on when the plumbing needs care. Success in this role means being able to: Write and maintain safety-critical C.NET code with the care it deserves. Own infrastructure end to end Support our Operations team whenever help is needed, move comfortably between application work and operational work, and see the two as one job rather than two. What you will do Develop and maintain the Capplication that controls our battery systems and guards their safe operation. For example: designing a safety module for the Battery Controller, which helps in keeping our batteries safe and only alert the on-call operator when it is absolutely necessary, or integrating a new type of battery in our battery portfolio. Take ownership of part of our infrastructure and operations. You won't do all of it, but you'll pick up an area (or a few) and run with it. Depending on where your strengths and interest lie, the infra work could include: Orchestrating our linux based fleet with Ansible and other automation tools. Keeping self-hosted infrastructure healthy across Hetzner, Azure and StackHero (OS and Docker updates, DevOps pipelines, our GitLab instance, and the Mikrotik-based VPN gateway). Designing, testing and documenting new on-site network setups for our Customer Operations team to install. What are looking for Solid experience as a C.NET developer, writing clean, maintainable code. Knowledge of hardware communication protocols such as Modbus and MQTT. Hands-on experience with Linux, and a love of scripting and automating tasks away. Comfort with infrastructure tooling such as Ansible, Docker, Azure and OpenVPN, and with cloud/hosting environments like Hetzner. The know-how to set up a reliable and secure network, and the curiosity to keep up with the field. A genuine affinity for the operational side of software — you see running the system as part of building it. Strong communication skills and a habit of documenting your work. Fluency in English is required. Weekly working hours of 32-40 hours Coming into the office 3-4 days per week What we offer 30 holidays per year, plus an annual company trip of 3 days The opportunity to do volunteer work, by offering 1 volunteer day per year Learning & Development budget of EUR 1,500 per year Attractive pension plan with Brand New Day Working remotely for 2 weeks per year We cover your travel costs, regardless of whether you come by bike, car, or public transport. A mobile phone allowance of EUR 25 per month Additional activities such as a bootcamp, volleyball tournament, company drinks etc. Interested? For more information about iwell, what we do, why we do it, and an overview of our partners, visit https://iwell.eu/. Our application process Apply. Our People & Culture Team and the hiring manager will review your application and will respond within 2 weeks. Phone screening. Are you a true iweller-in-the-making? We will invite you for an introductory call. Are you the one? You will have two or more interviews. For some roles, you will also be asked to work on a case. Apply or Apply with Indeed Share job

We build automatic drone systems that inspect commercial aircraft. Our drones fly around airplanes, capture high-resolution imagery, and feed it into ML models that detect structural defects, all in a fraction of the time a manual inspection takes. The concept is proven. Now we're scaling it: making it work across more aircraft types, more airports, and more demanding operating conditions. What you’ll do Our Flight app is the interface between the operator, the drone, and everything that happens before, during, and after a flight. It handles inspection configuration, live monitoring, data flows, and sync across environments that are often offline or unreliable. The app is entering production, and your job is to lead Android development through that transition and beyond: hardening what exists, shaping the architecture going forward, and making sure the app holds up in real-world conditions. You'll work closely with the engineers who built the current version and take significant ownership over where it goes next. This is a native Android role. The app communicates directly with drone hardware over binary protocols, renders 3D flight scenes in real time, and operates in environments where reliability and low-level platform control matter more than UI polish. If your background is primarily in cross-platform frameworks (Flutter, React Native, etc.), this probably isn't the right fit. Because the app integrates directly with drone hardware, we'd like to see you in the office in The Hague several days per week. Testing with our hardware is important to ensure quality. The responsibilities you will have: Own Android development (Kotlin) for the core flight operations app Build and maintain abstractions across multiple drone SDKs, so the app isn't tightly coupled to any single platform Implement robust communication with the flight computer over binary protocols (protobuf-based) Develop inspection monitoring tools, including real-time 3D scene rendering and interaction (OpenGL/Filament) Ensure stability and data integrity across offline/online transitions, in environments where connectivity isn't guaranteed Sync inspection images, flight path data, and telemetry to the cloud The app must be highly robust and performant. Your role is to ensure successful performance at production level. You’ll work closely with robotics- hardware and the full-stack engineer(s) who built the current version and have significant ownership over its future direction. Job requirements What we’re looking for You're a senior Android engineer who has built apps that talk to hardware, handle unreliable networks, and render complex visual data. You have experience building apps that go beyond consuming REST APIs and displaying lists. You have worked deep in the Android platform and you're comfortable with binary protocols and custom rendering pipelines. What matters most: Deep native Android experience in Kotlin, with production apps that go well beyond standard UI work Hands-on experience with communication protocols (serial, protobuf, MAVLink, or similar), you've built the layer between app and hardware before Experience with 3D rendering on Android (OpenGL, Filament, or equivalent) - not just importing a library, but working with scene graphs, camera transforms, and real-time data Solid understanding of offline-first architecture, data synchronization, and local persistence in unreliable network environments End-to-end ownership; you drive problems through to resolution without waiting for direction Clear communication and collaboration with robotics, hardware, and backend engineers Bonus points if you have experience with Familiarity with drone SDKs (DJI, MAVLink) or experience in adjacent hardware-integrated mobile development Background in robotics, automotive, or other domains where the app is part of a physical system What we offer You will be part of a dynamic, fun and driven team with a high degree of flexibility. Competitive compensation that reflects your experience and impact. 30 vacation days + 8 flexible public holiday swap days.
